Race for Life

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to order Kaos Decals for our race trailer. They turned out awesome. Thanks to Riverton Design for making these for us and Kaptain Kaos for sending the artwork to them.

"The Bear" won his 8th Novice race friday night, so he is now a new 13 year old Intermediate. Friday night was a single point race at Rad Canyon Indoor, and our team did an awesome job of representing Kaos. The standings for Friday night are as follows. "XXX" 9th, "Mad Dog" 7th, "JoDrama" 5th, Michael Charger 2nd, Uriah Day 2nd, Randy Kenney (cruiser) 2nd, Randy Kenney (20") 2nd and "The Bear" 1st.

Tonight was the annual "Race for Life" at Rad Canyon Indoor. The "Race for Life" is a fundraiser race for the Leukemia Foundation. It is also a double points race. When we have multi point races, it brings in more riders from surrounding areas. Tonights race had 300+ riders and 68 motos. Kaos Utah brought home some good certificates tonight: Randy (cruiser) 8th, "XXX" 7th, Michael Charger 5th, "JoDrama" 4th, "The Bear" 4th, "Mad Dog" 4th, Uriah Day 2nd and Randy (20") 2nd.

Incase you noticed, we have some new riders listed in these races. I will do and introductory post for all the riders here soon. We still have a few people we may possibly sign by the end of this week, so I will try to do a team roster for you as soon as I hear what they are doing.

Long Race Weekend

This past weekend we spent every waking hour at the track racing. We started Friday night at 6:00 pm and didn't get home until 11:30 pm, returned back at 2:30 pm on Saturday and returned home at 10:30 pm and then returned at 9:00 am on Sunday morning and finished at 1:30 that afternoon. Needless to say my little family of racers wore themselves out.
These first 3 photos are during practice, I am trying to figure out how to get better pictures of the kids racing until I can afford a nice camera, these were the best 3 our of the dozen I took. I also used Randy's phone to take a bunch of video of most of their races this weekend. The videos are uploaded to you tube if you want to go watch them. They are under the account sk8rboi1414, but here is a link to one of them.
We also met a member of the KAOS Colorado team this weekend. Her name was Fallon Ward and she did an excellent job. Thanks for coming and checking out our track this weekend. Hopefully we will be able to go to Colorado and meet the rest of her team in the near future.
Sunday Racing went as follows: Randy Cruiser 5th, "JoDrama" 3rd, "XXX" 2nd, Randy 2nd and "The Bear" 1st. This gave "The Bear" his seventh 1st place. He needs one more win to move up to the Intermediate class. We would like to thank all of you who have came and braved the cold temperatures to help support our Racing hobby.

Saturday, they had a memorial lap for a fellow racer that died a few weeks ago. His family also paid for any 28 and older rider who wanted to ride in the open class, so Randy took advantage of this and rode in the 28+ Open. Their was about 36 riders that signed up and Randy finished about 25th. He also registered to start racing in the 35-40 Cruiser races also. He finished in 5th place for cruiser, not bad for his first night of racing these guys. The rest of the racing finished as follows: "XXX" 5th, "JoDrama" 3rd, Randy 3rd and "The Bear" 1st.

Friday night the ending results of racing were: "XXX" 7th, "JoDrama" 4th, "The Bear" 3rd and Randy 2nd.
This weekend we had the opportunity to meet the BMX Olympic Silver Medalist (Mike Day). The kids all got his autograph, but I didn't get a chance to get their picture with him. His manager took a few minutes to raffle off a few prizes from his sponsor GT Bicycles and then commented on what an awesome job Utah is doing for the BMX community. He said that majority of the tracks he has visited over the last few years have been averaging about 25 motos for a local single point race night, but we exceed that count almost every night. Friday night we had 50+ motos, Saturday had 60+ motos and Sunday had 40+ motos. This is a good thing because it gives our kids more competition.

Crit Plates

This month's promotion post is
Crit Plate. Crit Plate was started in 1980 in Rhode Island by a kid named Mike Rodrigues. He got the name from a term used in a Vans ad that had the slogan "Gettin' Crit"

www.critbmx.com

We had the opportunity to work with Mike in November to order our new plates. Then while looking around for a company to print us up some banners, Randy mentioned to him that we needed a banner and he said that he was just starting with a company trying to get banners made through Crit, so he talked to Kaptain Kaos about his opinion of Crit making their banners and now we received our Kaos BMX banner this afternoon. Thanks Crit Plates for all your help in the plates and banners, we look forward to continuing our business with you and your company.
