TJ's BMX Memorial

Today was the second day of racing for Rad Indoor.  This past month the Utah BMX family has lost 3 fathers (TJ Zehl, Brad Kopelson, Wade Spratt), so today we did a small memorial for them.  They asked all riders to line the final straight on the track, with the 3 families standing in the middle of the last straight.  They then had all the riders get down on one knee and had a minute of silence.  It was a touching experience for everyone involved.

Kaos Utah also had the opportunity to ride another flag lap today.  We have also been appointed the position of finding the music for the national anthem for the whole indoor season, because we were able to figure out how to make the sound system in the building hook up to a smart phone.
Stats for tonight are as follows ...Kaden 3rd, Paige 2nd, Xander 4th, Brandon 5th, Alexis 1st, Garret 1st, Jorden 3rd and Dan 4th ...
We signed another rider tonight, welcome to the Kaos Nation Daniel Walters

Indoor Begins Again

Last night was the first indoor race at Rad Canyon Indoor for the 2012/2013 season.
Since our team won the team trophy on the last outdoor race, we had the priviledge of leading the flag lap last night.
We would like to introduce our newest member of Kaos Utah : Cassie Franks (Pebbles)

Stats for Rad Canyon Bmx 1st indoor for Kaos Utah ...Kaden 2nd, Paige 2nd, Xander 3rd, Kodiak 4th, Brandon 3rd, Alexis 1st, Garrett 1st, Jorden 3rd, Cassie 6th and Jared 4th ....

Redline Cup Finals 2012 in Fresno, CA

Boys road their hearts out all weekend! A few crashes, a few tough Motos. Bam Bam took 4th Friday, DNQ yesterday and 8th today. Bubba took 2nd Friday, 8th yesterday and 3rd today! Couldn't be prouder :)

Bubba wound up 5th over all in this past weekend's Redline Cup West Finals - even after a crash and last place finish in the Day 1 Main Event. Came home with a 2nd, 8th and 3rd for the weekend. I am so proud of him and all he's accomplished on the track in such a short time!

In Memory of TJ

This past week, we lost one of our biggest fans.  TJ Zehl died in the early hours of September 29th.  TJ is Garrett Davidson's stepdad.  We will miss you TJ, keep a watch over our team.

Terry Wayne Zehl Jr. (“TJ”), age 38, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was born on May 8, 1974 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. TJ grew up between New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida. Eight months ago he moved across country to Utah with his fiancĂ© Robin and her son Garrett to be closer to his big sister Kristie. He loved drawing, poker, computer games, and watching his step-son, nieces and nephews play ball and race BMX. Above all else, TJ enjoyed being with family, often being heard saying “Family is Forever”.
He is survived by a large loving family – his daughter Dystany Rachelle Humphery, her wife Alicia and their daughter Jasmyn Bravo of Florida; his father Terry W. Zehl Sr. and step-mom Michele of New Jersey; his mother Michele Calavano Eagen and step-father Mike of Florida; his sister Kristie Zehl Walters, her husband Dan and their son Brandon, daughter Cassie Walters Franks and her husband Will of Utah; his sister Lisa Zehl Langlois, her husband Joey and their children Tyler, Conner, Hunter and Sara of New Jersey; his brother Michael Zehl, his wife Linda and their son Matthew of New York; his sisters Davene and Michele Duncan of Florida; his fiancĂ© Robin Davidson and step-son Garrett of Utah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Celebrations of TJ’s life will be held both in New Jersey and Utah. On Friday, October 5, 2012 a party will begin at 7pm at the Knights of Columbus, 3 Lasatta Avenue, Englishtown, NJ. On Thursday, October 11, 2012 a party will begin at 7pm his home, 2029 West 8350 South, West Jordan, UT.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alpha 1 Foundation (alpha-1foundation.org), the National Ability Center (discovernac.org) or the American Heart Association, specifically to his niece Cassandra Franks who will be dancing at a fundraiser in his honor.
